I am a first-generation Mexican American LA county-based artist. I was born and raised in La Puente and have always been drawn to the arts, whether it be physical, digital, or musical. My purpose and drive towards art is to connect with people through art by sharing my stories and experiences. In hopes of my pieces reaching out to someone and connecting with them. Stay creative!

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to visit my homeland, a very privileged visit I wished my parents could have taken. The main purpose of my stay in Mexico was to meet my family and friends, most important of all my grandparents. Soon after my grandma, mamá Tere passed away. During my stay I spent time with her and had conversations I will forever keep in my memories. I grieved her passing, but I also grieved my father’s life he could not have with her. A Tu Recuerdo (To Your Memory), is a call back to the small moments family and friends had with her. This painting is an homage to my mama Tere. An homage to my grandparents. An homage to my father’s last memories with her in 2008. An homage to those who were not able to reunite with their loved ones, after years spent away from each other. In hopes of finding peace amongst these memories. In another life they will reunite.
